FEAST OF TABERNACLES · A MEMBER-LED PROPOSAL

Keeping the Feast Together

A proposed shared Feast of Tabernacles site
for COGWA and UCG.

Separate organizations. Shared fellowship.

Express Interest Explore the Proposal

One shared Feast.
Both churches remain separate.

This initiative proposes a jointly sponsored site—not a merger or a change to either church’s leadership, government or identity.

How a shared site could work

A straightforward approach that respects both organizations.

Joint coordination

Two representatives from each church, or a mutually approved director and assistant director who know each other and work well together.

Shared services & activities

Speakers and activity coordinators divided equally, or assigned through another arrangement both churches approve.

Separate registration

Members register through their own church’s website, with combined attendance numbers used for site planning.

Two options for shared finances

Possible approaches for both shared expenses and Holy Day offerings.

OPTION A · EQUAL SHARES
50/50

Shared expenses and Holy Day offerings
divided equally.

OPTION B · ATTENDANCE BASED
Proportional

Shared expenses and Holy Day offerings divided according to each church’s share of attendance.

Proposals only. Both administrations would approve the budget, handling of offerings and final arrangement. The agreed division would be explained before offerings are collected. Specifically designated gifts follow donor instructions.

Fellowship is the goal.

A shared opportunity to worship, serve and spend time together
while respecting both organizations.

What would need to be agreed

Practical details to work through together.

Location, capacity & lodging

A suitable venue, affordable lodging, accessibility and enough space for services and activities.

Budget, contracts & responsibilities

A jointly approved budget, clear responsibility for deposits and contracts, and a plan for shortfalls or cancellation.

Safety & pastoral care

Agreed insurance, emergency procedures, children’s activity supervision and access to ministers from each church.

A clear process for joint decisions

Defined responsibilities, a way to resolve disagreements and a path to both administrations when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a proposal to merge the churches?

No. The proposal is for one jointly sponsored Feast site. COGWA and UCG would each retain their own leadership, government, identity and congregations.

Has either organization approved a site?

No. This is an independent member-led initiative gathering interest. The proposed target is 2028; no year, location, coordinator or financial arrangement has been approved by either church.

How would offerings be handled?

The proposal offers either an equal division or a division based on attendance for both shared expenses and Holy Day offerings. Both administrations would have to approve collection, accounting, receipts and transfers. The arrangement would be disclosed beforehand, and gifts specifically designated to one church would follow donor instructions. Regular tithing arrangements are outside this proposal.

Is expressing interest a registration?

No. It is neither registration nor a financial commitment. If a site is approved, the proposal is for members to register through their respective church websites. Please do not book travel based on this initiative.

Who would coordinate services and activities?

Both churches would agree on the people and responsibilities. Options include two representatives from each church, or one mutually approved director and an assistant director who work well together. Speakers and activity coordinators could be divided equally or assigned by agreement. No individual has been appointed or endorsed.

What happens after interest is gathered?

Responses can help prepare a practical proposal for consideration by both administrations. Expressions of interest do not imply either administration will approve the proposal. Any later update will clearly distinguish proposals from approved arrangements.
